What do groundhogs and crêpes have in common?

February 2 is Groundhog Day (le jour de la marmotte) in North America; but here in France, it’s la Chandeleur (le jour des crêpes).

I forgot to mention that my interview is now up at Expat Interviews.

Oh, and the president got married today. Apparently Sarko & Carla only met in November?? That was quick.

you didn’t know they only met in november?? i’ve been following the story since the beginning! i miss all my trashy gossip from back home, i sit around wondering what paris hilton is up to. at least this way i can get a little politics at the same time.

Methinks they met long before but kept it under wraps until he won the election and it was magically revealed that his marriage was over. His marriage was over long before he won the election, same for Royal, who revealed straight afterwards that her partner and her hadn’t been together in years and he had a girlfriend. Considering the French value privacy so much I’m surprised they both bothered to lie about the state of their marriages during the election..Good interview! Nice photos as well.

Hi there… I knew there was a reason WHY I was subconsciously wanted to make PANCAKES this weekend!! I didn’t but I have been thinking about it!! It’s almost Mardi Gras, too.. Wish I was in Bahia to celebrate le Carnaval Bresilien!!! Hey… about our new First Lady, I read somewhere that she is pregnant.. If it’s true, maybe that’s why they married so quickly..
