I still read the forums at assistantsinfrance.com everyday, seeing if I can answer any questions about the program. Recently I discovered the Facebook group too (when did Facebook get so annoyingly popular??) so now I’m spending even more time not doing the things I should be doing, a.k.a improving my French. But if I can prevent anyone from being as stressed as I was when I first arrived here, I’m glad to do it.
It seems that a lot of the new assistants in Grenoble are receiving their work contracts, except for Haute-Savoie. I’m desperate to find out if anyone got my school(s) or has decided to not come. I need this job.
Tonight I e-mail the rectorat. I’ll call in a few days if I get no response. I’m dreading their response, however.

Just scare them all away, tell them how horrrrrrible it is there: the students are terrors, the city smells, the teachers hit your hand with a ruler if you make a mistake in French, etc:) I’m sure it’ll sound realistic! Good luck anyways in waiting to hear because something is bound to turn up, even if not right away. Fingers crossed for you!

PS-Thanks for the comment on my blog especially since it is purely a labor of boredom, I mean, love.

I really hope you get a placement. Fingers crossed. And I can speak for everyone when I say that your contributions to the different forums are fantastic- and today I found your website invaluable for helping me fill out the visa form, as whilst there’s a translation available on the aus website, yours has way more detail and answered some questions I had. You should RUN the program. Maybe when you get to Canada..

Hehe, someone needs to run the program. It’s so ridiculously unorganized… Glad my site was able to help you!
