Sarko insulted a random man at the Salon de l’Agriculture yesterday because the man told Sarko not to touch him. Politely translated, the exchange went something like this:
Man: Don’t touch me.
Sarko: Then get lost.
Man: You disgust me.
Sarko: Get lost, poor jerk!
(Sarkozy actually said casse-toi and pauvre con, which can be much more rudely translated…)
It’s great to see the president of the Republic of France act so polite and reserved to the general public. Maybe he’s just grumpy about his record low approval ratings or maybe he really is that big of a meanie.
In any case, I think it’s a little suspicious that all of the videos of the insult have been deleted from Dailymotion, the French counterpart of YouTube. Of course you can still watch the video on YouTube:
And someone has already created a Casse-toi, pauvre con blog, which I find hilarious.
Making fun of awful presidents is fun in any language!

Hi Jennie,
My husband told me about this last night as we were Skyping.. as I was in Krakow… I thought… OOPS, like Oh my Gawd… You’d think the Prez. would have a little more self-dignity… Not toooo cool, in my eyes… I think it’s a bit low-class.. I wonder what the Frenchies think of it… I find it embarrassing, frankly! Oh well.. I will link this video to my sight when I’m done putting up my pix from Poland… Take care, Leesa

Everyone is talking about this video!! My boyfriend showed it to me last night and then I watched Canal + today and all they did was bash Sarko! It’s true though that a president should not talk like that to someone even though the old man started it. Anyways, love your blog! Check out mine when you get a chance!

I was surprised that “all” the french at work thought it “Scandalous” and totally uncool by Sarko. They were equating it too if Bush were to say “f” off, which I think in the states would have only been on Jon Stewarts Daily show.
Thought it was interesting that they also commented that the guys “touch moi pas,” was poor french.

Did you also see the interview with Lesley Stahl that he just walked out of it when he wasn’t happy? Very unimpressive.

Our Daintree tour director was French so he told us about this! Haha. He and C had a good little anti Sarko chat together. I think it’s really low-class and undignified indeed..Sarko is just about the most unstately president you could find.
