What does that machine do, exactly? I don’t mind the dog in the baguette, and think it would be extra good with some chili on top, but what I wouldn’t do for a ball park dog!

@Rachelle: It heats up the hot dogs inside the middle section, and then you jam the baguettes on the metal spears to make a hole inside them where the hot dogs go.

Baguettes just seem too classy (and might I add hard and crunchy) to be associated with hot dogs.

The best hot dog I’ve ever had was made with a baguette in France… It was like 6 years ago and I can’t stop raving! It was made with mayonnaise, mustard, lettuce, tomato, and fries on top. Doesn’t sound much like a hot dog, I know, but it was wonderful! At one time I actually thought about writing a book chronicling the different hot dogs I ate in France (seriously).

I just always think of the Cité de La Peur movie (see it if you haven`t!) when I see a hot dog, baguette or not!

Actually, those are to die for. Parents were American and British, we grew up in France and loved those. It’s either that or brioche buns.
